No stamps were used..

...in the making of this card.
I was determined to make some cards on this wet weekend. I haven't managed many lately and stocks are low. Having said that, this is a Christmas card so that isn't going to help in the near future.
The current challenge at 52CCT is to use punches. I don't have many punches but one I do have is a little star. I cut out the stars and coloured them with a silver sharpie and then hung them on a pen line (which I did draw in pencil first).

I'm never sure when a simple card is too simple but I think this large sentiment adds enough interest but is still keeps the card simple. I was initially going to make the stars different colours but I like this two tone card. Maybe I'll try a more colourful one next time.
I'm entering this into:
52 Christmas Card Throwdown - March technique challenge

and Pixie's Snippets Playground - I've used a snippet for the stars and, while rummaging for something to mount the sentiment on. I found a snippet of pearlised silver card I didn't even recognise. So I don't know where that came from but there is still a bit left for another day.

Poinsettia tag

I have made it back with a Christmas card, at last. It seems I work better under pressure and the deadline is too far away! Though I have tried each week to be inspired, I have not managed to make a card I was happy with. Also, I don't have any new Christmas stamps. Normally I buy one set a year and make most of my cards along the same lines. I've banned myself from anything new for a bit but I'll give in sooner or later. I have my eye on a few things.

I'm fairly pleased with this. I made it for the 52CCT challenge to use markers. I coloured the flower with markers and also edged the tag and the backing with a gold Sharpie. I printed the tag. I'm tired of all my Christmas word stamps and would like some new ones but I'll print in the meantime. If anyone knows some good ones do let me know and I'll add them to my list.
I'm also pleased that I use this backing paper. It is not specifically Christmassy (and is a lovely apple green colour not grey as it looks here) but I think does the job and I'm glad it's not all covered up.
So there we are. No 2! But no rush.
